Congratulations on scheduling your design consultation with Gardens By Hilary!

Below is some information that you may find helpful in maximizing the design consultation experience.

Appointments:
Call or email Gardens by Hilary to schedule an appointment.

We make every effort to be punctual for our appointments. However, please allow a 15 minute window, as the previous client may have run late or there may be traffic problems. We will call your home or cell number if we are going to be more then 15 minutes late.

If something comes up and you cannot make your consultation appointment, please call our office as soon as possible at 314-647-1456.

What We Need You To Do:
The client should expect to spend 1 to 2 hours of their time with the designer to discuss the plan for their yard. The consultation will be outside, so please dress appropriately for the weather and to walk around the garden.

We ask that dogs be kept inside during the entire consultation.

It is also easier for the client to concentrate if children or other distractions are not present.

Fees:
Design Consultation: $550 for up to a three hour site visit. Every hour additional on site is $100 per hour. Payment is due at the conclusion of the site visit(s). 100% of the design consultation fees will be credited to any purchased installation.

On the average job, the design phase of the consultation will have the designer on your property for a total of three to four hours. Larger projects have taken up to ten hours of design.

What Does the Client Receive?
The design phase will include a layout in the client's yard of the design (with colored flags and temporary utility marking paint) to show the client the ACTUAL location of the beds, plants, walkways, walls, patio, lighting etc. Then measurements, notes on field conditions, and other important information will be taken down.

All of this information will be taken back to the office where the proposal will be prepared. The client will be contacted (usually within two weeks) to set-up an appointment to present the proposal at the client’s home. The proposal package, depending on the type of project, can include a drawing of the proposed work area, a job description, a plant list with the plant's common and scientific names and a Power Point CD with photographs of all of the plants for the client to keep. (The drawing and plant list will be retained by and remain the property of GBH until the proposal is accepted and signed.)

The proposal for the job will include a FULL CREDIT of the paid design fee.

Extras:
Stamped engineering drawings are also available where required.
